The Staff Team
Each individual project
has its own designated staff team. Whether this is within a
residential or supported living scheme. Each project has a set
number of contracted hours that it must fulfil each week. Staff
working for Lisieux Trust are expected to work a shift system, including
evening and weekends with occasional ‘sleep in’ shifts
(dependant on the project requirements)
These hours are
covered by a variety of staff including Managers, Senior Support
Workers, Support Workers, Driver/Carers and Maintenance Operative. All of whom
have had several years experience working with people with
learning disabilities and hold a variety of formal qualifications
ranging from Social Work Degrees, Diploma in Social Care and
Management, National Vocational Qualification Levels 2,3 and
4, British Sign Language Stage 1 and 2.
Prior to any
staff member commencing employment with Lisieux Trust, an enhanced disclosure
from the Criminal Records Bureau must be obtained. One other
check that the Trust also operate is the Protection of Vulnerable
Adults (POVA)
During the first
three months of their probationary period all staff are offered
training in mandatory topics and are encouraged to obtain
qualifications/certification in First Aid, Fire Safety, Basic
Food Hygiene, Manual Handling, Medication Awareness as well
as more specific topics such as Tourette syndrome, Dyspraxia, Asperger
and Autism. Training for staff continues throughout their
employment and staff are actively encouraged to put
themselves forward for a variety of training offered both
internally and external to Lisieux Trust.
To date Lisieux
Trust employs 72 staff. The staff team is diverse in experience,
ethnicity, age and gender, roles and responsibilities.
