Congratulations! If you’re on this page, it means that you, or your loved one, are considering taking steps towards greater independence.
Now, more than ever, there are plenty of opportunities for adults with a learning disability and adults on the autism spectrum to fly the nest; whilst still having their needs met with the level of support appropriate to them.
That process doesn’t have to be scary or daunting. Instead, consider it an exciting new chapter for all parties. Here’s the best thing: by choosing Lisieux Trust, we’ll be with you every step of the way – we know this process might mean big changes for a whole family. Afterall, we live for positive outcomes for everyone involved!
Fill out the below form. If you have already sought a social worker assessment, this is really handy – they’ll be able to confirm the care hour allocation. If you don’t have this information, don’t stress! We can support you to access it.
A member of our team will be in touch within 7 days to discuss your application further. In the meantime, we recommend visiting our social media channels, to learn more about what goes on at Lisieux Trust.
We’ll invite you to meet some of our senior management team. Here’s your chance to put some faces to all the words, and ask any questions you may have about how we can ensure your expectations are met.
It’s really important to us that our residents and tenants feel they belong. Our people are tremendously diverse; sharing different views, perspectives and beliefs. We want to make sure you, or your loved one, are placed somewhere that feels like home. Here you will have the chance to view our available services and discover which one feels more like home.
We’ll support you through all the necessary paperwork, to ensure a swift and easy transition.
Too much change too soon can be distressing for all parties, so we like to ease our residents and tenants, and their families into Lisieux Trust life, with a few settling-in sessions. During the first settling-in session, you will meet the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager for your chosen service. This will be your opportunity to let them know all there is to know about the likes, dislikes, and ambitions of you, or your loved one.
The following settling-in sessions will be all about the person spending time with their new housemates, and getting to know each other. This is also a prime opportunity for families to get used to their own new-found independence.
Residents and tenants will receive a welcome pack, featuring information and resources to help them get accustomed to their new home. Don’t worry, by the time move-in day comes, we will have got to know you, or your loved one, so everything will be planned to make it as easy as possible.
Families will also receive plenty of information about keeping in touch and working alongside Lisieux Trust to make sure you, or your loved one, settles in well.
In order to ensure our residents and tenants get the most out of life, we like to work alongside them to define goals. This doesn’t have to be an exhaustive list, and it can be as ambitious or as comfortable as they see fit. They’ll then have a key-worker assigned to them, who will be responsible for helping them to see their goals through.
